Description

Hailed as one of the greatest bands of all time, Joy Division's spacious, gloomy music was a definitive statement on urban life in the latter half of the twentieth century. The Manchester group introduced elements of the New Wave post punk sound including melodic bass, dramatic baritone vocals, evocative and intelligent lyrics, textured and sparse guitar riffs, precise mechanical drumming, a melancholic mood, and an atmospheric echo-laden production. Under the guidance of producer Martin Hannett, the punk band consisting of Ian Curtis, Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook, and Stephen Morris was transfigured into the legendary group who would influence the musical tableau of the 80's. This is a copy of "Closer", Joy Division's final album. I believe this is a first pressing, but I can't say with certainty; no guarantee. It features a translucent disc with "A Porky Prime Cut" and "Blue Eyes" etched into the dead wax. Side A is is denoted as "Inside" and side B is donated "outside". The sleeve is textured and the original inner sleeve with rounded corners is also included. Everything is in good condition, usual wear.
