• CONDITION -
  • Sleeve - a strong EX, with just the merest hint of 'storage' record shaped impression and a very small (0.5") 'handling' line/ripple in the top-middle area (half way between the top opening and where it says 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' ... VERY minor!)
  • Vinyl - nice, clean EX - bought by myself (most likely on the day of issue!), probably played about 6 times and then transferred to tape and stored away.
• OTHER DETAILS - an original 1980 UK 7" on the Factory label, in picture sleeve. The third track is not listed on either the cover or the label. The run-off groove notations read as follows:-

  I bought this single, most likely on the day of release, and then played it just a handful of times before transferring to a cassette and storing away. The record and sleeve have therefore been safely stored away in a PVC sleeve, inside a carrying case for the last 30 years so this is a nice, clean copy.

  Not only that, but this is one of the handful of the first pressings that was produced on translucent red vinyl - in other words, when you hold it up to a bright light, some light passes through and this makes the vinyl appear to be a dark red colour, almost like the colour of red wine. In a normal light, it appears as a regular black vinyl pressing. It's not a spectacular effect, but some light gets through and you can see the light behind the record and a deep red colour. I have had to 'doctor' the picture to try to give a ROUGH IDEA what it looks like (when I took the picture, the vinyl looked a pale mauve when uploaded to my PC!) - bear in mind that the label obviously isn't red, it's just where I tinted the picture to try to get it to look as realistic as possible, and the amount and strength of the light will determine how much red you see.

  Apparently, this is a very rare pressing and only very few were made like this, and only a few of the very first copies pressed, so this should be considered a genuine rarity. As I have another copy of this single (sadly only a standard black vinyl copy), I am reluctanly parting with this very rare pressing, as ever due to lack of funds!
