THIS IS AMAZING...
GENUINE STUDIO REFERENCE MIX TAPE OF UNRELEASED VERSIONS OF "SHE'S LOST CONTROL" AND "ATMOSPHERE" (2 VERSIONS OF EACH SONG)...
TAPE IS GENUINE STUDIO MIX TAPE FEATURING GREEN RUN-IN TAPE AND RED RUN-OUT TAPE (INDUSTRY STANDARD) AND IS MARKED WITH HANDWRITTEN MASKING TAPE LABEL STATING THE LEGEND "CABARET VOLT. DEMO'S, LOST CONTROL, ATMOS X2"
IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SONGS IS THE SOUND OF WHO I PRESUME TO BE MARTIN HANNETT CHATTING WITH VARIOUS STUDIO STAFF AS HE TUNES STEPHEN MORRIS'S DRUM KIT FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES!!!
ANYONE WHO KNOWS THE HISTORY WILL KNOW HE HAD A THING ABOUT DRUMS...
THE ITEM ALSO CONTAINS A COUPLE OF CABARET VOLTAIRE DEMOS.. THIS WAS THE TAPE USED IN THE STUDIO WHILST RECORDING SOME OF FACTORY'S FINEST MOMENTS IN 1979..
A ONE-OFF PIECE OF HISTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS IS A REAL CHANCE TO BUY A UNIQUE PIECE OF MANCHESTER, JOY DIVISION AND NEW ORDER'S HISTORY.
I'M A BIG JOY DIVISION FAN AND I'VE NEVER HEARD THESE VERSIONS ANYWHERE BEFORE... NEITHER HAVE THE 2 JOY DIVISION FANATICS I PLAYED IT TO. THEY REMAIN JEALOUS..........
ALSO, I DIDN'T LET ANYONE HAVE A COPY... I GUARANTEE THIS. I MADE ONE MINIDISC COPY WHICH IS INCLUDED IN THE LOT.
NEW ORDER / JOY DIVISION MADE IT INTO THE NME HALL OF FAME A FEW YEARS AGO AND NOW MOVIES ARE BEING RELEASED ABOUT THEIR LIVES..
THIS IS A UNIQUE CHANCE TO OWN A UNIQUE PIECE OF ROCK AND ROLL HISTORY!!!
COMPANIES LIKE EIL HAVE OFFERED ME HUGE AMOUNTS OF MONEY WITHOUT EVEN SEEING THIS ITEM. HOWEVER, I'D LIKE TO SEE IT GO TO A FAN AND NOT BE CONSUMED BY PROFIT MAKING CORPORATIONS. DON'T SELL OUT TO "THE MAN"!!!!!!!!!
GENUINE BIDDERS ONLY NEED APPLY..
I ONLY ACCEPT PAYPAL AND THE ITEM WILL ONLY BE POSTED ONCE THE FUNDS HAVE CLEARED...
please do not bid on this item if you can't afford it!!!!!!!!
GOOD LUCK!!
A few people have asked how I came by this item. Perhaps I should have given more information from the start...
I found this item in a charity shop in Chorlton-cum-Hardy in Manchester, England about 2 years ago. It was in a box of other 1/4" tapes which included another Cabaret Voltaire studio reference tape and some other unmarked stuff.
I have to admit I bought them for only £1 each. I played through all the tapes on a friend's 1/4" machine. This was by far the most interesting of them all. I had intended to keep the tapes as a sort of pension for years to come, but my circumstances force me to sell them. I figured that this was probably the most valuable.
I have to say that the value of this item is as an object of memorabilia and as a chance to own some versions of songs that others may never hear. The versions on this tape were rejected in favour of better ones - I assume, but it was nevertheless part of the recording process of the songs we've all come to know and love. I DO NOT OWN THE COPYWRIGHT TO THE MUSIC AND NEITHER WILL YOU IF YOU BUY IT. YOU THEREFORE DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO BOOTLEG THIS ITEM. THAT WOULD BE ILLEGAL. I CANNOT CONDONE BOOTLEGGING OF ANY DESCRIPTION. I AM A MUSIC FAN AND MY PASSION IS FOR RARITIES LIKE THIS.
I can only verify the item insofar as the sound engineer whose 1/4" machine I used to make the transfer to minidisc agreed that this is indeed a studio reference mix tape. He produced Bjork's first album and used the same industry standard techniques and showed me other examples of this type of item, so I trust that he knows what he's talking about!!
I have made several and long attempts to contact the engineers who produced these sessions to no avail. So here it is.
Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any more questions.
Some of you have requested snippets of the songs for verification. I have no idea how to provide them. If any of you can suggest easy ish ways to send you snippets then please get in touch. I am fairly computer literate but by no means an expert. Thank you!!!
Sx
listen everyone... I am now pretty sure that this tape DOES NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH MARTIN HANNETT.
OK?
I've consulted several people about it and its not his kind of tape at all. He didn't record this tape. Ne Pas.
It remains, however, an amazing piece of JD memorabilia. And all the other bits still apply.
I will fully understand if you want to cancel your bids.
Yours
