ORIGINAL UK FACTORY RECORDS (FACT 40) FIRST PRESSING (October 8, 1981) OF JOY DIVISION'S "Still" DOUBLE LP SET - IN BEAUTIFUL CONDITION - POSSIBLY COMPLETELY UNPLAYED - THERE ARE NO SPINDLE TRACES OR SIGNS OF USE ON THE LABELS (which still retain vinyl reside around the spindle hole) AND ON PLAYBACK (ON MY SYSTEM - AT A LOUD VOLUME!) THE AUDIO DELIVERY IS FLAWLESS - FANTASTIC COPY - EXCEPTIONALLY RARE TO FIND LIKE THIS

This compilation consists of demos, previously unused studio material and a recording of their last ever performance at Birmingham University on May 2, 1980 - this performance includes the only time the group ever played "Ceremony", which later became New Order's first single.
Also featured is a cover of The Velvet Underground's "Sister Ray", recorded at The Moonlight Club in London on April 3, 1980.
Sides 3 and 4 were recorded at Birmingham University 2/5/80 - Sister Ray was recorded at The Moonlight Club, London 3/4/80

THERE IS A WHITE RIBBON AROUND THE SPINE WHICH HOLDS THE INNER GATEFOLD IN PLACE
THE INNER GATEFOLD HAS A SOFT TEXTURED SILKY FINISH AGAIN, WITH INDENTED WHITE LOGOS AND LETTERING
AND HAS TWO INTERNAL POCKETS WHICH HOUSE THE RECORDS IN TWO TEXTURED, DIE-CUT THICK CARD GREY INNER SLEEVES - EACH INNER HAS ONE ROUNDED CORNER TO CORRESPOND TO THE ROUNDED CORNERS ON THE INTERNAL POCKETS

LABELS: The labels are clean and bright with no spindle traces or any signs of use - there are some very, very tiny foxing spots (please see close-up photos) from storage for almost the past 30 years but in my opinion this set has never been played
VINYL Visual: Both records retain their original deep, like-new, glossy sheen and are practically unmarked save for some very light hairlines caused by movement of the records within the thick card inners - these have no audio consequence - the playback is outstanding
VINYL Audio: As good as it gets - most of the material in this set is decidedly lo-fi originating, as it does, from demos and live recordings with "Decades" particularly poorly recorded with notable tape warble from the original transfer. But as I said, this is as good as it gets, and on playback at a loud volume (which is how I always listen to my records prior to listing) there are no scratches, no sticks or jumps, no surface noise and no loud clicks or pops. The whole set plays beautifully (and cleanly) throughout to the highest possible standard with no groove-wear and no distortion (it's possibly completely unplayed) and is critically graded as MINT for audio - playback is flawless
HARDBACK HESSIAN OUTER COVER: Great condition. The front and back surfaces are beautifully clean (which is pretty rare as by it's very nature it picks up marks/stains easily). There are some age related foxing spots to the spine but these are covered up by the white ribbon which is a little grubby on the top and bottom (again, from storage) but is otherwise clean and undamaged. Overall, a very fine example - EXCELLENT (but actually one of the best I have seen)
SLEEVE: The silky textured gatefold cover is NEAR MINT - practically untouched and protected by the hardback outer cover
INNER SLEEVES: Both thick card inners are NEAR MINT with no wear or splits - but again, one of the inners has a few age related foxing spots (nothing major). Both records are housed in separate inner sleeves (with anti-static liners) and will be posted in these inners to avoid any damage to the originals during transit
