Description
- 1979 Factory Records 10, this is an original UK pressing - NOT a recent reissue - of the classic Joy Division LP "Unknown Pleasures". This pressing has the textured jacket with the rounded corner inner sleeve, and is pressed on translucent vinyl that shines red when held up to the light. Jacket is EX-, showing some minor handling and some rippling toward the mouth; there are no rips or tears. Inner sleeve is VG+, also showing some handling and some rippling at lower right corner. (I assume the rippling is from being stored somewhere that may have been a bit damp at some point. There are no other signs of exposure to untoward elements.) "Outside" side of the vinyl grades VG+, showing some paper/surface marks. Playback is solid, with some background crackle during quieter interludes. "Inside" side grades VG, as there a few feelable scratches, the most prominent of which is situated on "Shadowplay", and ticks when passed over during almost the entirety of the song. Otherwise, playback is solid, with some occasions of the aforementioned background crackle and few other instances of ticks and such. I still found it to be an enjoyable listen! Labels on the LP are crisp with no spindle wear. NOTE: As of January 27th, US postal rates have increased. Buyers now pay $4.00 media shipping in the US, $21.00 first class mail overseas.
