UK early second press - possibly 1980 - unless someone out there knows better. The etched words "STEP" and "THIS IS THE WAY" indicate this date/press. HOWEVER the important bit is that this has remained a superb copy. Peter Saville's fabulous textured sleeve was a design classic but it's very texture meant there was an in-built fragility to the sleeve and has meant that most copies suffer a bit of compression damage (where LPs rub up against each other in your collection). Mine is no different, though has been stored in a PVC sleeve most of its life.

Condition: Vinyl EXCELLENT / NEAR MINT: vinyl is unmarked, clean with a really bright sheen. Has been played about four times through both sides in 30 years, including to test it out now as I type. I had an earlier first press which I bought the week of release as I was a hardcore JD fan - that copy got played a lot. This has remained fairly pristine. Really this stereo LP sounds fabulous - crisp and dynamic. LABELS - near mint /excellent.

Sleeve is EXCELLENT - for a 32 year old LP.  Clean - with no tears, no writing. Some tiny spine creases. The signs of ageing/handling wear, remarked on above come to this:

Front has some very minor ringwear for a short distance at the very top - where apex of LP sits.

Rear has some very minor ringwear for a short distance at the very top - where apex of LP sits.

Both front and rear has some compression rub at bottom of LP sleeve but this is minor on both sides. all four corners have "bumps" of a mm or 2. And that's about it.

Original innersleeve with squared corners, again indicating second pressing as far as I know: a strong VG+ Would have been a Nr Mint but for a couple of slightly grubby handling marks.
