First Original UK Factory Records Pressing : The Labels Have Silver Print On A Black Background . The Beautiful Peter Saville Designed LP Sleeve Is Finished In A Thick Textured Coarse Fibre , As Is The Inner Sleeve . This the Original Inner Sleeve With Round corners. Printed By Garrod And Lofthouse Limited Whose Credits Are Listed On The Inner Sleeve . Most Copies Of This LP You See Tend To Have Worn Covers , Due To The Fragile Nature Of The Beautiful Textured Design . The strange thing with the first copies of "Closer" issue is that the vinyl turn PURPLE TRANSPARRENT against a strong light. Even if you keep the record at hand gives you the impression that rthe vinyl is dark purple. I dont know where the vinyl of these first copies cutted but I have seen the same effect on other MANCHESTER record of the period (STEVE MIRO 1st Lp and SPHERICAL objects too).
