Description
Blue label with white triange at the top, original, deep groove, stereo. Montrose, tenor sax; Tommy Flanagan, piano; Jimmy Garrison, bass; Pete La Roca, drums. 7 tracks. Cover: VG Intact with small tear off near "OSE" in the Montrose name at the insert edge of the front cover. A slight rough edge at the insert edge. 2" split on the bottom edge. Light aging on the front and back cover. Minor crease and wear on 1 corner. Record: VG to Mint(-) Visually shows only slight wear with a few light rub marks. Appears to have been played only a very few times. In spite of the clean appearance, there are considerable clicks on Side A, Track 2, "Violets For Your Furs". The clicks appear at the very end of Track 1 and are heard at the beginning of Track 3. There are a few clicks elsewhere. In contrast Side B has only a very few infrequent clicks and plays close to Mint. This is difficult to rate as described, Side A being close to VG because of Track 2 whereas Side B is very clean with only minor noise. This is the reason for the considerable spread in the overall rating. Audibly checked.
