Hi, my name is Brian and I have been collecting vinyl for many years. My main interest has been PROGRESSIVE especially the VERTIGO SWIRL/SPIRAL LABEL, reputed to be the most collectable label in the world?

I have finally finished my SWIRL collection of over 160 albums of which most are UK pressings, and now I am going to SELL them ( I must be mad ). I have been quite fussy about the QUALITY, CONDITION and they must be the VERY FIRST PRESSINGS. The latter has been the hardest to decipher and has had me buying and selling many copies of the same album to achieve this,and I almost have with these collectable gems.

I am now selling another..YES another set of UK swirl VERTIGO albums. PLEASE read the descriptions carefully as some of the albums are NOT very first pressings and some will be VERY FIRST white label promo's. But ALL are GENUINE UK SWIRL PRESSINGS. 

I am not and have never been a 'dealer' by profession, but I have always given honest descriptions and lots of clear photo's of any items I have sold. I do know how disappointing it is when you open that package and the item has been over sold with expressions such as "AWESOME" etc when the item is only in EX- condition or worse. If you are in anyway disappointed with an item from me you are most welcome to return it with a FULL REFUND, providing it is an honest and just mistake by myself as I believe in my descriptions.

MATRIX NUMBERS...THIS IS THE ELUSIVE VERY FIRST PRESS WITH MATRIX NUMBERS FINISHING WITH 111 ON BOTH SIDES

B-SIDE  6360014  2Y//2 V 420  1  1    1    ( In each case the 'v' represents a triangle )

SLEEVE.....6 PANEL, 2 SIDED POSTER FORMAT and UN-LAMINATED. THIS IS THE ONLY COPY OF THIS SLEEVE I HAVE SEEN MADE WITHOUT A 'MATT' FINISH !!!???  To elaborate... The card is a little thicker than the standard sleeve used on all later print runs, I am assuming this is the very first version of the sleeve printed (as he album is a very very first press). The black and white picture on the inside of the sleeve has a matt finish just as all the other sleeves out there BUT the 6 panel colour side has a gloss finish, this I have never seen or heard of before. As you can see from the pictures below he sleeve is printed by ' HOWARD PRINTERS ( SLOUGH) LTD' as all UK copies and it bears the standard UK 'WARNING' script. Now to the condition of the rarity...The edges are EX+ with NO SPLITS, there is a little corner tip wear.  The front is in great condition  with  NO UNWANTED WRITING, NO STICKERS, NO CREASES and NO TEARS, there is a tiny amount of gentle surface rub EX+. The rear of the sleeve is in the same EX + condition, the rest of the colour panels are AS NEW N/MINT. The black and white picture of the band is MINT. The spine has some sun light fade and some wear which has caused some minor damage to the printed information, ( there is a close-up picture). I have posted 2 pictures comparing the more common 'MATT' finish sleeve to this gloss finished one, and in both cases you can see a clear difference in the finish and the detail of the picture..you can easily see that the detail in the hair is finer.This album comes with an ORIGINAL SWIRL INNER SLEEVE . All in all this is in very respectable condition for a 37year old UN-LAMINATED sleeve. EX+.

LABELS.....Larger B-side swirl. There is NO unwanted writing, stickers, residue or tears. There are only a 2 spindle marks on side B and non on side A, this album has obviously always been handled with great care, N/MINT, N/MINT.

VINYL..... Both sides of this fantastic album still have their JUST PRESSED deep black shine. When you hold this album in the very brightest of lights you can see VERY FEW, VERY LIGHT surface hair lines but NO SCRATCHES. As with each and every one of the albums I sell, I have played this album on my very sensitive and revealing LINN SONDEK and the sound is UN-WORN. It is full and crisp there is NO loss of sound quality at all, wonderful sound stage and stereo separation. There are ALMOST NO dust crackles and there is almost silence between tracks and no hint of crackles durind the quiet parts of the music almost MINT. These HEAVY VINYL original pressings are second to none. This really is a great copy that any collector would be delighted to add to their collection, a real KEEPER .  N/MINT, N/MINT.

DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE RARITY OF THIS ALBUM
