1964 JUKEBOX ONLY EP
"The Patsy Cline Story" is a double album compilation of Patsy Cline's best-known songs between 1961 and 1963 originally issued as a 2LP set in a gatefold sleeve. The album was released four months following Cline's death. This 7-inch EP is something quite a bit more rare.
Leave it to the Seeberg Jukebox company to introduce something really innovative. Perhaps you remember those '60s jukes that played little mini albums, three tracks from your favorite artists for just 25¢, and all of them in STEREO. It was a chance for singers to not only get their hit song played, but let some casual listeners also hear tracks that were only available on albums.
Most of the major labels ran up special mini-albums specifically for the jukes, and they have since become some of the rarest collectibles. Never sold in stores, these solid center little albums spin at 33.3, are in stereo, and look like old fashioned EPs with their hard cardboard jackets.
