Description

Original deep-groove pressing of Jackie McLean and John Jenkins "Alto Madness" on the yellow and black West 50th Street labels of Prestige PRLP 7114. The playing surface is in beautiful condition and appears to have been played perhaps once or twice: there is a small needle drop towards the end of the first track on Side 1 that produces two very light - almost imperceptible - tics; some normal patterning at the beginning of both sides, caused by the record being in the original cellophane inner sleeve for so many years. The patterning is frequently seen in these old pressing and is always inaudible, as it effects only the vinyl surface - not the groove walls. The laminated cover is also in beautiful condition: bright and clean throughout; some very slight rubbing to the back slick; 1/8" wear to the top seam, at the corner; ¾ " wear to the lamination on the bottom seam, at the corner. Personnel includes Wade Legge, Doug Watkins and Art Taylor.
