Description
This is the original RVG-stamped deep-groove "P"-pressing of Jackie McLean "New Soil" on the West 63rd St. labels of Blue Note 4013 (no Inc. or R). The playing surfaces are in excellent condition, showing just a few very light inaudible handling marks and patterning that is typical of records stored for many years in their original inner sleeves. The laminated cover has the West 63rd St. address and the transitional logo that appears on only three Blue Note releases: bright and clean cover art; some shelf wear/rubbing on back slick with ½" chip at lower left corner; ½" wear to lower corners. Personnel includes Donald Byrd, Walter Davis Jr., Paul Chambers, and Pete La Roca.
