Jackie McLean on Blue Note 4262
This is the rare original mono pressing of Jackie McLean “New and Old Gospel” on the Liberty labels of Blue Note BLP 4262. The playing surface is in near-new condition, with a high luster; perhaps played once. The coated 1776 Broadway cover is in excellent condition; light age toning on the front; “George” written in ink at the top of the back slick. Illustrated inner sleeve is included. Blue Note issued only 17 mono special promotional copies for radio stations that had not converted to stereo transmission.
Personnel include Ornette Coleman, Lamont Johnson, Scott Holt, and Billy Higgins.
