Description
Note: These records are from my personal collection. I am not a dealer and do not have the knowledge to grade them so I am giving the best description that I can. If there are any questions please ask.
This is the original and rare 1965 vinyl of Jackson C Frank's only official album, produced in England by Paul Simon. As anyone interested in this artist will probably know Jackson lived a tragic life plagued by mental illness and homelessness. He died in 1999 aged 56.
To the naked eye the record looks almost perfect. However, holding it up in various lights I can see several light scratches on both sides - none of which (except one on the first track side 2) appears to have scored the surface. I have included a picture of this. I cannot tell you how the record it plays because I no longer have a deck!
The front cover is fairly clean but there are creases in the spine, minor creases at the corners, and a slight semi circular impression of the top of the record. The back cover is grubby with smudges and in a couple of places some unidentifiable blobs! The type has slightly faded under one of these where it has been rubbed. The edges are discoloured with age. There is no writing on the labels which are clean and sharp.
SO, if you are looking for a collector's piece in great condition this is not for you. If you are looking for a piece of history and a record of beautiful, haunting songs that should still play well, I don't think you will be disappointed.
