Description

Jamaica Ska Au Go Go LP 1st Rolando Al Skatalites w Bob Marley The Wailers

This is the original first release of this compilation album titled “Ska-au-Go-Go”.  It may be a little rough, but this original release on the maroon Rnd Records label is hard to find.  This was issued in Jamaica only, so had to be bought as an import.  The record features Rolando Alphonso and his Soul Bros. Orchestra, which consisted primarily of members of the Skatalites, with a few changes.  They had guest vocalists - The Wailers, The Gaylords and The Soulettes.  The Wailers were formed in 1963 by Peter Tosh, Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer, so were fairly new at the time of this release in 1967. Performances are as follows:

The Wailers - Wings Of A Dove

Roland Alphonso & The Soul Brothers - Ska Au Go Go

The Gaylads - Big Bamboo

The Soul Brothers - Cut Munu

The Skatalites - Sugar And Spice

Roland Alphonso & The Soul Brothers - Something Special

The Wailers - Shame And Scandal

The Skatalites - I Should Have Known Better

The Soulettes - Hey Senorita

Jackie Mittoo & The Soul Brothers - Wives And Lovers

The Wailers - One Love

The vinyl rates only a G+ as there is a lot of scratching while the cover only rates an F as there is surface paper missing from the front cover.  I’ve listened through the album, and although you do hear some background noise, the record plays through well - it does sound better than it looks as the music covers a lot of the scratch noise.  The album is being sold “AS IS” by auction method.....

Despite the condition, this is a nice collectible Ska album, especially due to it being the original Jamaican pressing.......

Shipping

Canadian buyers, please note that although we offer shipping through Champlain, NY for our American customers, we are a registered business located in Canada and must therefore charge applicable GST/HST/PST to Canadian buyers - please read further to understand our shipping methodology and note all costs so that there is no misunderstanding when rating shipping costs post-sale.

I ship to my US clients through USPS services as long as the value of the item does not exceed $200. For items that sell for over $200.00, I must ship to my U.S. clients using Canada Post. This is due to restrictions outlined in the North American Free Trade Agreement, chapter 3.21.  I am located in Canada but I have a carrier service to bring my parcels directly across the border on either Tuesday or Wednesday to be shipped out of the USPS postal outlet in Champlain, N.Y. In addition to the actual shipping cost, I do charge a $3.00 handling fee to help offset the cost of this special US service and new packaging for this piece. Please note that even with the handling fee that it is less expensive and is a quicker service than using Canada Post.

To my Canadian clients, I use Canada Post for shipping, as I am based in Canada - legally, I am not permitted to ship to you through the US, so do not rely on the US shipping calculator for costs.

To my International clients I can ship by either Canada Post or by USPS (in order to use USPS for intl. clients, the items must sell for under $200.00).

Please feel free to write with any inquiries in regards to cost of shipping to you.

Payment

Because I have a scheduled pick-up on either Tuesday or Wednesday, I would require your Paypal payment by Monday at 5:00 p.m., Eastern Standard Time.

BUYER PAYS SHIPPING - PLEASE DO NOT PAY UNTIL I CONTACT YOU AFTER THE AUCTION to avoid error. The reason for this is that package sizes and weights are estimates only as we cannot fully package items before they are sold. Please e-mail us for a shipping quote or wait until after the auction for a precise shipping cost. Our auctions end on Sunday evening, so I will be in touch with the correct invoice on Sunday evening or by the latest Monday morning, after we have had the chance to carefully package your item.

I would request any client to get in touch with me upon winning an item, who is not able to pay by Monday at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, so I can get an idea of when to expect your payment.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE: CANADIAN RESIDENTS PAY GST/HST and QUEBEC RESIDENTS PAY BOTH THE GST AND PST TAX.

Terms of Sale

Being auctions, we do not accept returns unless an item has been significantly not as described.  We describe very thoroughly, both with photos and text, but in the case that an item has been misrepresented, we will accept a return for full refund, including shipping costs.

International customers, please do not ask us to falsify customs documentation:

"Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding / buying. These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up - do not confuse them for additional shipping charges. We do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as "gifts" - US and International government regulations prohibit such behavior."
