Original South African 2LP released in 1973 on Polydor Records. Cat: 2679012. Comes in a gatefold sleeve. Originally released in 1973 as a sprawling two-LP set, The Payback was one of James Brown's most ambitious albums of the 1970s, and also one of his best, with Brown and his band (which in 1974 still included Fred Wesley, Maceo Parker, St. Clair Pinckney, Jimmy Nolen, and Jabo Starks) relentlessly exploring the outer possibilities of the James Brown groove.
Tracks : The payback/ Doing the best I can/ Shoot your shot/ Forever suffering/ Time is running out fast/ Stoned to the bone/ Mind power.
There are a few spindle marks on labels. Records have some light scuff marks that cause some light crackles and are in Excellent condition. Gloss gatefold sleeve has light ring wear and a few tiny tears along right ahnd edge and is in Excellent condition.
Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.
