Description
Original UK release on Transatlantic. The gatefold sleeve is in VG+/NM- condition. Just some light wear to the some edges and discolouration to the glue of infamous inner plastic sleeve with the foam lining that caused all the problems. (The record is now safely contained in separate inner sleeve) The vinyl looks in pristine condition under normal light no marks or wear are apparent. Under a spot light the occasional finger print and some very light surface marks are visible, nothing more than where the record has been taken in and out of the inner sleeve. Sadly side 1 suffers from the reaction with the foam meaning there are 2 areas to the outside edge of the playing surface that are marked. I have play tested the record in full on a Linn Sondek with Audio Technica cartridge with the following comments:- Side 1. Because of the reaction with the foam in 2 places this causes a double audible distortion for the first 1min 40sec of track 1. The record does not skip or jump and plays through fine but unfortunately there is the very obvious distortion as with nearly all these records. The rest of side 1 plays through almost faultlessly. No issues at all, just the very faintest of back ground noise to some of the quieter sections. Side 2. This has not suffered from contact with the foam hence there is no distortion as per side 1. It plays through almost faultlessly with only the faintest of back ground noise to some quieter sections. I would estimate that this record has been rarely played, perhaps 10 times only. If it were not for the first 1min 40 secs of side 1 I would happily grade it at NM- Any questions please ask
