Comments: Ex cover, sealed (tiny, barely noticeable dings in the middle of the top and bottom seams; see pic).
Sealed original of Jandek's 6th LP and his third released in 1982 (after "Chair Beside a Window" and "Living in a Room So Blue"). Just Jandek, his guitar, his poetry, and his instantly recognizable voice, casting signals from some brown pill haze formerly occupied by Syd the Barrett and few others. See my other listings for a couple other Jandek LPs, including a sealed copy of "Chair Beside a Window."
"“The focus here is on a very singular mid-tempo acoustic-guitar sound, with special attention to finger pickin’. The instrumental “This Is For You” and semi-instrumental “Basic Themes” (just a bit of wordless vocalizing at the end) stand out, and even most of the other pieces seem more concerned with the guitar than Jandek’s usual depressed lyrical statements. The big exceptions are the muted hard-strum violence of “Sound I”, which is mostly instrumental but quite different from the melancholy plucked-string approach; and a weird history lesson called “Nepoleon in Russia” [sic].” -- Eddie Flowers
