Description
This is a one-sided acetate pre-production copy of "Strawberry Shortcake", a top 40 hit by Jay and the Techniques from late 1967.
This 7-inch 45 RPM acetate is in Mint- condition (M-), shiny with no notable scratches, scuffs, flaking or chipping of the acetate disc. The record specifics are typed on a Smash Pre-Production Copy label. It has a Jan 1968 stamp on the label.
This acetate is in its original Audiodiscs sleeve. In the back in pen it notes various stations that had made the song a “pick” including WABC and WMCA in New York and various other stations that were apparently playing it.
This record has been in the collection of a recently deceased Massachusetts collector and disc jockey for more than 30 years.
