Description
Billie Holiday, Recital By, on Clef 686. Super original issue on Clef (later issued on Verve) is in M- condition. The A-side has a couple of very superficial, light marks, B-side has one mark that may be either a very light fingernail scuff or an artifact of the pressing process. Front cover slick with David Stone Martin artwork is like new, but there is some light soiling around the top edge of it and at the top of the left edge, where it meets the rear slick. Rear cover has some light age discoloration near the spine and very light wear, as well as the original price sticker. A magnificent copy.
Note that I am currently selling a superb collection consisting heavily of mid-century jazz and vocalists. These records were kept in magnificent shape by their owner, so check my other auctions now and over the coming weeks.
GRADING
M- A flawless or nearly flawless record that appears to have seen little or no play.
VG++ Superb record, full gloss with a few superficial marks that do not sound.
VG+ Full gloss, light marks or scuffs, but an attractive record that has seen limited play and has been well cared for.
VG More marks and scratches, but still a decent record. Scratches may be fairly numerous, but will be light.
VG- Lots of marks and scratches but no gouges or major problems. Not a beautiful record, but still serviceable, not junk.
G+ and G Heavy wear and marks, plays through okay.
SHIPPING
Overseas Air Mail is $12 for the first record plus $3 for each additional record.
I pack LPs in professional mailers, with the disk in its paper sleeve outside the cover and both disk and cover housed in a three-mil plastic sleeve.
