Description
Riverside Records #280 mono, “Deeds Not Words” from Max Roach. Features Max Roach, Booker Little, George Coleman, Ray Draper and Art Davis, from 1958. Max Roach was 33 when this was recorded, the oldest band member (Draper was 17, Little [trumpet] was 20). The jacket here is split on the bottom, the side and top are taped together. Front and back look good, normal wear for a 50+ year old record. Vinyl plays with some light crackle which is not overpowering, VG condition.
See my 140 other auctions for classic Jazz on Blue Note, Prestige, Riverside, Cadet etc. with many promo and DJ copies, sealed records, bunch of minters, oddballs etc.
Gradings:
M : Mint ( I never say mint, bogue, stone fox or Joe mama).
NM: Near Mint, Very clean, maybe some very light marks but sound is like new.
VG++: Very glossy, any scratches or marks will be very light and barely affecting play.
VG+: Still glossy, possibly some light crackle, some fine lines, still plays well.
VG: Used record, some crackle, no loud pops or skips; plays ok.
VG- : Some loud crackle, pops, a skip, probably not much gloss left.
