Description

For your consideration is a rare vintage 10 inch 78 rpm by Lou Gold and His Orchestra with Annette Hanshaw on vocals entitled I'm Losin You b/w Willard Robison and His Orchestra preforming I Just Roll Along. Excellent disc. One of my favourites of hers. So apparently there are two takes of this record. Judging by the frequency of each take that has been transferred / reissued, my strong hunch is this is the rarer take. The recordings are very similar but when Hanshaw gets to "smile" in the line "It's just a smile of sympathy," she sings a bit out of tune on this scarcer take. If you don't believe me or you'd like to hear both takes in full with high sound quality for optimal comparison, check out the following:

For the more common take, check out my transfer of my own copy on the channel AllAbout78Records on Youtube. Just search I'm Losin You Lou Gold and it should come up.

For the less common take which is being offered on this listing, check out the transfer of Martin Schuurman on his channel of the same name. Again, just search I'm Losin You Lou Gold and it should be in the first few results. Hear below!

All of our old shellac and vinyl 78 records are packed with utmost care and precaution so as to ensure they arrive to you in the same condition in which they were shipped out. I have extensive experience shipping 78s. For an in depth explanation of my shipping methods, see the bottom of this page. All items will be shipped within 3 days of purchase. All good faith offers thoroughly considered.

Further, for your purchasing consideration, a video link has been provided below to provide the option to listen to a short segment of one side of this disc. Please keep in mind that rather economical equipment was used and 78s only received a light cleaning. For the highest fidelity reproduction results, a correct sized, well maintained stylus should always be used and antique records should also always receive a deep cleaning with a stiff bristled brush and a non-alcohol based soap. I do not provide grading beyond what is required by eBay. If the photographs and sound sample prove insufficient, do not hesitate to reach out with a question, as well as any other type of inquiry related to an item.

All 78 rpm records, vinyl or shellac, will be shipped sandwiched between either thick cardboard or some spare 78 rpm discs to provide substantial reinforcement for uneven pressure placed on a package during shipment. The record sandwich is then suspended in packing peanuts on all sides. Packing peanuts are the optimal durable memory material as they will insulate your item against any acute forces such as a fall or any type of blow and unlike bubble wrap will not pop and lose their shape if subjected to a strong force.
