Description
Here are six albums by the unique jazz singer/songwriter Bob Dorough, whose piano mastery and unusual voice were unique in jazz. All discs are in excellent condition, except for one with slight shelf wear, mentioned below.
The albums are:
--"Just About Everything:” bassist Ben Tucker, guitarist Al Schackman, and drummer Percy Brice. The incredible title song is worth everything, a true classic. Album jacket has slight shelf wear. Focus 336.
“Yardbird Suite:” trumpet Warren Fitzgerald, vibes Jack Hitchcock, bassist Bill Takas, and drummer Jerry Segal. Bethlehem BCP-6023.
“Skabadabba:” trumpet/flugelhorn Lee Katzman, bassist Bill Takas, drummer Pewter Grant, and percussionist Luther Rix. Promo. Pinnacle PNL-7781.
“I’m Beginning To See The Light:” with bassist Bill Takas. Laissez-Faire SD-02.
“An Excursion Through Oliver:” trumpet Clark Terry, trombone Tyree Glenn, drummer Bobby Thomas, bassist Ben Tucker, guitarist Al Schackman. 2” and 1” tape on top jacket edge. Classic Jazz CJ-18.
“Hoagy’s Children” with Barbara Lea—Dorough sings “Old Buttermilk Sky,” “Hong Kong Blues,” and “Small Fry.” Lea Sings “Old Man Harlem,” “I Walk With Music,” and “Ballad In Blue.” They both sing on “How Little We Know,” “Doctor, Lawyer, and Indian Chief,” “Washboard Blues,” and “n The Cool, Cool. Cool Of The Evening.” There are three instrumental tracks. Hooray Hoagy Carmichael!!
