Jerome Richardson Sextet Midnight oil New Jazz purple DG mono RVG   Jerome Richardson  ' Midnight oil '  NEW JAZZ NJLP 8205 (USA) mono purple label with deep groove - rec. and issued in 1961 - on trail-off (dead wax) has RVG for Rudy Van Gelder   Jerome Richardson : flute, tenor sax - Jimmy Cleveland : trombone - Kenny Burrell : guitar - Hank Jones : piano - Joe Benjamin : bass - Charlie Persip : drums Side A :  Minorally  -  Way in blues  -  Delerious trimmings Side B :  Caravan (Ellington)  -  Lyric (Artie Shaw) All compositions by Jerome Richardson except as indicated   Visual grading : record is Good+ to VG- on side A and EX+ on side B. This great difference is because side B has full lustre, very clean with minimal wear. While side A has an evident impression all over the surface possibly left to a previously used plastic inner sleeve. Clean labels with some spindle wear  Playing grading : record on side A plays better than it looks with loud sound and light occasional background noise and minimal crackling only audible in few quieter parts. Side B plays EX to EX+ with loud and clear sound and a minimal occasional background noise Cover grading : cover is EX- to EX has very light wear. Front cover is clean, the spine is nice with all titles clearly readable. Back cover has in the middle of top edge a stamp 'Not for sale' and has a print with the old price on top left corner (see pic). Light age yellowing on back
