Classic 1970 original US box set pressing of the legendary Rock Opera. This is the "brown box" edition on Decca Records (DXSA 7206). Includes both vinyl records and the original 28-page illustrated libretto/booklet in great condition. Features Ian Gillan (Deep Purple) as Jesus, Murray Head, and Yvonne Elliman. Collector's Notes:
Before it was a Broadway hit or a film, JCS was a "concept album." This recording is highly regarded for its rock edge, featuring world-class musicians like Neil Hubbard and Chris Spedding. Ian Gillan’s performance here is considered one of the greatest vocal feats in rock history. Condition:
  • Vinyl: EX (Visual grade: Both LPs show high gloss, very few light surface marks, clean rainbow Decca labels).
