Description
This is a very nice copy of Classic Records 200g pressing of Jethro Tull’s recording of “Aqualung” on 1 double sided 200g vinyl 33.3 RPM record (Crysalis ILPS-9145). I bought the record directly from The Music (a retail arm of Classic Records) who guaranteed it as from the “First Stamper”. When I first bought this record new, the record was cleaned with a VPI record cleaner and treated with LAST record preservative. More recently it was recleaned with Audio Intelligent Fluids on a VPI cleaner and on an Audio Desk ultra sonic record cleaner. It has also been demagnetized with a Furutech DeMag.
Side has some low level surface noise in the lead-in groove and a small mark on the vinyl lead-in to “Cross-eyed Mary” which results in 1 light tick but is otherwise very quiet. Side 2 has some streaks in the vinyl and also has some low-level surface noise in the lead-in to the side. It plays mostly quietly with 25 light ticks noted on “My God”; 3 light ticks noted on “Hymn 43”; 3 light ticks on “Slipstream”; 11 light ticks on “Locomotion Breath”; and 14 light ticks on “Wind-up”.
I have only played the records a few times on various VPI tables I have owned (HW-19 MKIV, TNT 3.5, and Classic 4) using either Lyra or Benz Mico Ruby cartridges. The cover is a textured gatefold jacket with a lyric sheet insert. There are no seam splits or other defects. Multiple records can be combined in an order to save shipping costs.
