Description

An original 2nd issue of Aqualung on the UK Chrysalis label. Matrix A1U/B3U - same as 1st cut. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original E J Day textured gatefold cover [same design as 1st issue]. Also included is the lyric inner with exposed flipbacks. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing heavy or sinister looking. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback with two deviation. A very fine rendition of this TULL classic. Even super fussy tracks play very nice and clean - without background. Interference is very limited and infrequent. Expect just a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. The only deviation is a brief skip in the opening bars of Aqualung [side 1]. In addition, midway through 'God' - there's a tiny mark which cause 4-5 clicks and a pop. If you can live with those issues the rest of the Lp plays back to a high standard.
Cover (Ex-) Has been well cared for down the years. Very nice clean back and front with hardly any surface wear and barely a crease. There's one tiny sticker residue patch in the top left corner on the front. The interior is superb - no issues at all. Edge wear is light and the openings are still sharp. The text on the spine is still all legible - very nice. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity in part thanks to the heavy-card employed in manufacture.
Inner (Vg) Edges have splits and have been secured with tape. Surfaces look in good condition though.
