AQUALUNG
UBER RARE Pink Rim Island Pressing
Original UK Pressing
NOT the German Pink Island label, but the scarce UK Pink Rim pressed from the master tapes in Great Britan.
A highly sought after piece, check Popsike as these go for Hundreds of Pounds Sterling.
Offered here with a low starting price and no reserve.
A beautiful rare Item for the Serious Tull fan
These are the original Stampers, shared by the standard pressing on the Green Chrysalis label.
This was cut for Island by the good old folks at EMI, as was standard practice, Island being an upstart Indy label without there own pressing facility.
Side A:
Machine Stamped A-1U
At 9 Oclock: 1
At 6 Oclock OO
Side B:
Machine Stamped B-3U
(Fwiw there are no B-1U or B-2U copies, This was the first cut sold to the public. More than likely the first 2 pressings didn’t pass inspection/ acetate stage either due the pressing, or perhaps a last minute overdub etc.
Check Popsike or The Hoffman forum to verify J)
At 9 Oclock: 2
At 6 Oclock PR
Labels are clean no writing tears or stains.
Some minor spindle wear.
It should be noted the script is standard and not Old English lettering.
Vinyl:
Visually Graded as VG++
Nice Gloss, a few faint sleeve scuffs
LP has been cleaned on a VPI and placed inside a new poly lined inner sleeve.
Jacket: Nice VG+
Cover is typical lovely textured job, Gatefold Beauty from E.J. Day Group. No split seams tears, writing, stains or heavy bends.
Inner: Original Flaps style VG+ to VG++
Some minor wear to the flaps (see pic) and the bottom center seam is split from the weight of these heavy Island pressings of the era, like any inner sleeve.
All in all a beautiful and rare piece. Probably the rarest, original UK Tull Label variation known.
About my vinyl grading:
I try to describe so you know EXACTLY what your getting. I find that any lps I buy, even the most “accurate” and “trustworthy” vinyl sellers on EBay inflated their record grade, by one full grade. The average seller is off 2 to 3 grades. With that in mind I want to be straight up so there is no disappointment when it comes time to play your newly purchased LP.
I grade as follows:
NM
VG++
VG+
VG
VG-
About the Seller:
I am a passionate vinyl collector, seller and trader. I have extensive interest, and knowledge of vinyl, and enjoy sharing LPs from time to time with the EBay community.
I grade and sell with integrity. If there is a problem with any music I sell, I ask that you let me know immediately, and I will remedy the situation. I can say that my grading has never been questioned, and my small, but perfect feedback reflects this.
Thanks for looking at my auction.
Shipping:
I ship in new LP specific mailers, with 2 Cardboard inserts to protect the LP.
I take the LP out of the jacket and ship inside a clear LP sleeve.
I triple tape the boxes with 3M tape to ensure safe delivery.
All records are shipped USPS Media unless another method is requested.
