Description

An original autumn 1969 copy of 'Stand Up' on the UK Island label from within six months of 1st release. Matrix A2/B2. The Island record company went through no less than three label designs in 1969 alone! This particular label design conforms to the third design which was introduced in summer 1969. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover printed in an original Gimmick gatefold cover with band pop-up. Also included is the original 'plastic bag warning' inner sleeve date coded to May 1969 [05/69]. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback. Very nice clean audio all the way through which is crucial on this title. Interference is both minor and infrequent. All we could detect were a few light static crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side [in the quietest moments]. It's a really great rendition and one that does this Jethro classic full justice.
Cover (Vg+) In nice looking condition and faring better than many original copies that surface these days. Nice clean front exhibiting little wear and only some light tanning. Please note there is pin prick right in the centre of the image which goes right through and out the rear side. The rear follows suit and is looking nice and clean with only light handling. The interior looks very nice and relatively unscathed with a full operational pop-up. There's a fair bit of edge wear, but it doesn't appear to have worn-through anywhere. The spine is reasonably worn so don't expect to make out all of the touch. Overall the cover retains very good rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) No splits or markings. Inner polythene bag is absent.
