Description

An original and genuine 1st press of Stand Up on the UK Island label [Bullseye]. Matrix A/B - very 1st cut. Please note the pink labels exhibit the 'Bullseye' logo - and this the true and very 1st pressing of this way back in summer 1969. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original E J Day cover with 'Gimmick pop-up image' [fully operational]. Also included is the original generic white 'made in England' inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex-) In very nice condition and has seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a few light marks either side - nothing significant or troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAR EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of slight deviations. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. For the most part .... nice clean audio - which is an absolute must with this title due to its acoustic nature. Interference is both minor and infrequent. All we could detect were a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments. The deviations are... A brief non-repeating skip in the intro to 'New Day..' - it's close to the start of the track and it's the kind of "blink and you'll miss it" sort. So, if you're going to have one anywhere..then that's the place to have it...as it's all over before you know it! Other than that all we could detect were a few very light ticks briefly in 'Family'. Apart from these slight aberrations please expect a nice and clean and impressive rendition of this Tull Classic!
Cover (Vg+) Difficult to find in top condition and this example still acquits itself admirably. Lovely clean front with only one tiny mark - no creasing or heavy wear as is common. The rear is well above average - light ageing, but nothing overtly obvious. The interior is in immaculate condition as is the pop-up! There's a bit of edge wer, but nothing epic. Do expect a bit of wear on the spine and don't expect to be able to make out much of the text. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and remains an impressive original example.
Inner (Ex) Very little ageing and no splits.
