Hello there, come on in and welcome to the auction!
As you can see from my 100% feedback, I sell with complete honesty and reliability. Above all things I am a record collector and music lover. I only sell records that I would want to receive. I know well the disappointment of receiving an over-graded record that turns up two weeks late. That is not the service you will receive here, so bid with total confidence. I don’t sell a lot of records because I spend a lot of time carefully finding, grading and listing them and do not like to rush this process, as many sellers must do to be able to sell 100 records a week!
I am mostly a collector of old time music, pre-war blues and folk, so buy job-lots that often contain rare records that aren’t to my taste so to ebay they go!

So here we have a UK 1st press of Jethro Tull’s second release Stand Up.
Housed in gatefold album cover, in a woodcut style designed by artist James Grashow which opens up to reveal a cut-out of the band's personnel stood up. 'Stand Up' won New Musical Express's award for best album artwork in 1969.
Released on the 1st press pink mat Island label with the large ‘orange circle’ eye at 9 o’clock housed within the 1st press unlaminated gatefold intricate printed sleeve, this record hardly ever comes up for auction and never in this great condition!
The ‘pop-up’ design that stands up when the gatefold is opened works as perfectly as it did when it was first made, and so often these are broken or ripped in some way!
To find a first press Stand Up is a rarity in itself, but in this condition it is unheard of!
It’s a truel Nr MINT package throughout! So look no furth, we have ourselves a Final Upgrade!

Sleeve Condition.
The 1st print unlaminated ‘pop-up’ gatefold sleeve is in superb condition! There are no stains, splits or writing to mention! All the edges are straight and crisp with only the very mildest shelf wear to corners. The colours are as vibrant as they were on the day of release. The spine is perfectly straight and readable as it should be! A really nice clean touching on mint example that is a joy to hold and open!

Inner Condition.
The 1st press plain poly-lined white inner with blue text is in superb condition with no rips, tears, writing or splits! Just some mild creasing to mention!

Label Condition.
The first press Island pink labels are in superb condition. There are no rips, rubbing, writing or stains to mention. There is no centre hole damage at all. Even under a strong light, only one near invisible spindle line can be seen! It’s clear that this record has had 1 or 2 plays at most!
Nr MINT
Vinyl Visual Condition.
The record itself looks beautiful! It still retains its factory shine and lustre with no scratches or warping at all. Only 1 ghost like needle line can be seen on side 2 that has no audio playback at all with side 1 being stone mint. It’s utterly stunning!

Vinyl Audio Condition.
The record sounded great from start to finish. The sound was sharp and clear with no jumps or skips at all. The band was clearly separable by the ear on all frequencies! This is how a first press should be heard! Even at full volume it sounded amazing! Just a little static in between the occasional track! It’s truly a beautiful sound that you just don’t often get to hear, and is without a doubt the nicest copy I have ever heard! Final Upgrade!

So there we have it. A superb true Nr Mint 1st press complete with inner and beautiful rare folding outer sleeve!
As rare as the teeth of hens like this!!
