An original 1st stereo press of TW on the UK Island label. Matrix A/B - the 1st cut. Please note label design is consistent with very 1st issue in '68 - that Bullseye symbol is the cast-iron guarantee. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original stereo gatefold cover with flipbacks - very 1st issue. Also included is the original patents inner sleeve from the time too. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Vg/Vg+) In nice condition despite having seen a moderate level of use. Under close inspection there are a few marks either side. Most are light, but one or two are semi-feelable and so sounds - see details below. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly VERYGOOD level of playback on Side 1 & mostly VERYGOOD+ on Side 2. Side 2 delivers a very nice rendition with, in reality, not all that much to complain. A few crackles in a couple of spots, and a couple of ticks in track 2 - but other than that very agreeable. Side 1 grades a bit lower and isn't quite as clean a player. So, expect a good few crackles in most of the tracks - nothing invasive, but audible all the same. In addition, one of the marks in track 2 does cause six pops. In summary a still enjoyable and acceptable example of this sought after true 1st issue.
Cover (Ex) In great shape particularly considering its relative age. Lovely shiny front with barely a crease, or any laminate lift. The rear looks very tidy too with just a couple of thumbnail creases. The interior looks very nice too - no issues at all. Edge wear is relatively light and the spine is is pretty much totally intact. But please be aware that, whilst the spine looks very nice, it's not sitting at right angles anymore - it's more like at 45 degrees. Overal the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex-) Lightest ageing.No splits or markings.
