Description

Jethro Tull - Aqualung ( UK ISLAND Pink rim palm tree label. 1971 very first withdrawn Island pressing. Gatefold textured cover and custom inner. ILPS9145. A1/B3 matrices ). One of the very rarest pink rim palm tree label issues if not THE rarest. Certainly up there with the Nick Drake releases. Around 1000 were pressed up wrongly on Island instead of Chrysalis before the Island pressings were cancelled. A rarity was inadvertently created. Rarely turns up now as a UK pressing. Gatefold textured cover has edge wear and some ringwear. Pretty crisp opening edges. Slight spine wear. No rips tears or writing. ILPS 9145 on rear. VERY GOOD PLUS. flipback custom lyric inner present. Tape along bottom edge. Light creasing. VERY GOOD PLUS. Dark coloured Island labels only show slight signs of turntable time. EXCELLENT. heavyweight vinyl lies flat and true on the platter. Several light marks evident under spotlight. Strong player. One or two longer hairlines. Very slight background noise on some quieter passages of music. Nothing too intrusive though. Audio still sharp and dynamic. Ultimate first pressing of this masterpiece and really scarce now at this late stage . VERY GOOD PLUS. Gradings as per : Record Collector Grading System definitions. Dealer/collector since 1974. All items guaranteed. All photos are of actual item for sale. Worldwide customers very welcome. Any questions please get in touch. Thanks. Gordon.
