There are ONLY a VERY limited number of this SEALED Classic out there - and while others charge a fortune for it, I have started this auction at ONLY .27 cents in honor of Jimi's age of death....with NO RESERVE !
THE CLASSIC RELEASE by TOP RANKED GUITARIST in the world is FACTORY SEALED! Because there is NO Bar codes which generally started appearing in 1976, we know that this release would be earlier than that date. What exact date I don't know. But it is an official release and rest assured it is RARE - a FACTORY SEALED complete with ORIG. Price Stickers ROCK, or rather MUSIC CLASSIC.

Has only minor shelf wear, including a tiny bump upper rt. corner and very tiny opening in shrink lower rt corner. INFORMATION UPDATE: I was informed early on from another Hendrix "expert" that the date is probably 1976 or earlier, but another possibly more informed expert has provided some tangible seemingly researched and factual, yet possibly not the be-all-end-all source of info on this record. I think him for his information on this very difficult RARE LP and applaud his courteous and selfless donation of info. Here is the info: "You say in the listing description that this album is from 1976 or earlier because bar codes only started appearing around 1976, but I'm fairly certain that this a 1979 reissue."
1. The 1979 US Reprise reissue of this album has no bar-code
2. I looked on discogs.com and the only issue I've found that didn't have the "Stereo r" graphic and the catalog no. "RS 6761" in the upper-left corner on the back was the 1979 US Reprise reissue.
3. The original price of $6.99 seems to more closely match the price of an LP in 1979. $6.99, adjusted for inflation, is just about $23.00 in today's money. Also the discounted price of $4.99 (about $16.00) makes sense for that time as well.
I'm still going to bid $30.00 on this because it is still a very rare find and will probably sound damn good, but I'm asking you to please revise the listing where you said it's 1976 or earlier.
UPDATE Oct. 5: The same expert as quoted above has added the following info:
"Like I said, I am not 100% sure that is 1979 reissue, but it seems much more likely. There is still a very small possibility that it may be an original
1967 three-tone release. The original '67 releases had the Reprise record label with the original steamboat and three different colors or tones. I'm almost certain that more than one place did the printing for the LP jackets (in the
60s) and one plant may have chose not the add "Stereo r RS 6261" to the upper left corner on the back.
The only way to absolutely sure would be to open it and examine the record label but I know that is not possible. I've even heard of people using extremely powerful lights shined at sealed LPs to examine the actual record label
itself. But I don't think that is possible with the thicker materials used to make LP jackets in the 1960s."
