Description
Jimi Hendrix - Are You Experienced
UK First Pressing May 1967.
Mono - there were no stereo copies of this album in 1967 (despite what some will tell you) until Track rereleased it as Backtrack 10 in November 1970.
Track Record – 612 001
Matrix One: 612001 A ▽ 1 Matrix Two: 612001 B # ▽ 1
Vinyl: Play tested on a Rega Planar 3 with Exact cartridge. The record plays superbly with a clear and detailed sound which leaps out of the speakers with very little background noise between tracks. It would justify a VG++ rating but (and there's always a but) for a couple of issues. I noticed three or four clicks in the first verse of Red House and a couple more towards the very end of the guitar solo. The rest of Side One plays without issue. Side Two has some clicks at the start of Third Stone From the Sun. Apart from these defects the whole album is remarkably clean and crisp. There are some superficial marks on Side Two where the album has slid across the top of the tall spindle (used for stacking singles), but they do not affect play. I would rate the album as VG+ given it's overall playback quality.
Sleeve: VG condition. Front laminated. The spine is worn, and there is some creasing to the edges. The rear is quite clean and very legible but has definite ring-wear.
Inner: VG+ condition. Original 1967 poly lined inner. This one is dated 067 = June 1967.
