Jimi Hendrix - Band Of Gipsies, 1970 UK Original Track 2406 002 First Press
Catalouge number: Track 2406 002
This has the following first press matrix numbers: side 1: 2406 002 A v 1 121 (very early pressing) side 2: 2406 002 B = 1 111 (early ever pressing)
Vinyl G+/VG Under bright light many hairlines, scuffs and thin scratches were visible. There is one more noticeable sccratch at the side 1. I have played the record from the beginning to the end and it sounds with moderate crackle and light clicks. There is one skip at "Who Knows" almost unnoticeable because there are no music no vocal at this place. No sticks no jumps. I grade side 1 as G+ and side 2 as VG. But despite this sound of this record is very enjoyable. The vibrancy, separation and of the first press is realy great through out.
Labels VG+ Clean. Without damage, stickers etc (please see photo).
Sleeve VG++ Original "Pappet" sleeve is clean with no damage, writing, splits or stickers etc and has moderate edge and corner wear. Small stain at the back cover.Quite decent example (please see photo ).
Spine VG+ With light wear but absolutely readable (please see photo).
Inner sleeve FAIRE (please see photo).
Rare first pressing of this classic album in decent shape and enjoyable sound.
Grading System: In order to assist everyone who buys and sells rare discs, Record Collector magazine has originated a set of standards for the condition of second-hand records, I have added a (+) or (-) to my gradins where applicable.
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
