Description
The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are You Experienced? Released by Reprise Records (RS 6261) in August 1967.
This is the original first US stereo pressing issue with the tri-color Reprise label. Printed at Terre Haute Pressing Plant, August 1967. Original company inner sleeve is present, but will ship with audiophile sleeve on disc.
Cover/label variations: title on front cover is "Are You Experienced", title on back cover and labels is "Are You Experienced?"; catalog # RS 6261 appears on spine, label and back cover while catalog # 6261 appears on front cover. Some copies may have a single digit printing plant code in the lower right corner of the back sleeve.
The vinyl appearance is pretty clean with some marks that don't seem to impact play. I have given this disc multiple cleanings, ultrasonically and by hand. The music mostly plays VG+ now, there is some static that plays behind the music in between songs and at lighter spots. This is not an issue given the loudness of the music, but it is present at moments. I hear no skips, pops or material issues. Thus, the media is rated VG.
The sleeve shows some decent wear over the years. There is wear along the spines and corners and ringwear is present as well as some light staining along the bottom spine. I am rating the sleeve a G+.
