Description
Smoke free environment.Jimi Hendrix 1966 over half century 45with the mega rare picture sleeve! The rarest and first American 45 of all Hendrix and most sought after.. Condition for 45rpm is Near Mint. The picture sleeve is Ex+.Shipped with USPS Media Mail. This record is the single backed with 51st Anniversary, not Foxy Lady. This single if found, which is practically never found, is found with the orange and brown Reprise label. This copy is even rarer by that it is a white label radio station promo copy and white promo picture sleeve! It has a stamp written date ,which is a normal procedure radio stations got back in the mid, late 60’s.The condition of the 45 on both sides is immaculate! It was not played much at all.Its a true gem to behold.I have carefully kept it for many many years.Kept it away from light, kept it away from heat, never played it,never cleaned it,never touched it.I only handle it with cotton gloves. The vintage plastic has a beauty all it’s own ,has a nice deep reflection in the light. No scratches! The white label has a nice age to it.The picture sleeve is practically where the whole value comes in.In the late 60’s only big and well established record stores and some radio stations got picture sleeves, and they only got 1 maybe 2 copies and that was it!Picture sleeves were not at all common, and in the case of Hendrix practically non existent. The record did not chart at all, never sold well.Hendrix was not known then like he is now. They made a second attempt with rereleasing the singe a second time with Foxey Lady backed with Hey Joe,but not ever released with a picture sleeve. As a matter of fact all the other singles on Reprise when he was alive never had picture sleeves! This is his only 45picture sleeve in America while he was alive. The picture sleeve for 53 years old is a true survivor.Very Very rare.Goldmine values a mint copy of the picture sleeve by itself just over a 1,000.00 dollars, and that’s been years ago.Its his first American single and only one with a picture sleeve while he was alive. The most sought after American single by Hendrix. To find one is like finding a 4 leaf clover. These records if ever found are deplorable with blemishes and fingerprints and millions of scratches! This record is practically pristine.A must piece for the true vintage Hendrix vinyl collector. This is the record of Hendrix to own.
