I'm offering an unplayed album by the recently departed Jimmy Buffett titled "Living & Dying in ¾ Time". Released in 1974 by ABC's Dunhill Records. Catalog #DSD-50132. 33rpm 12" record. In stereo. Length: 38:15, 11 songs. I've owned this since it came out and have never played it. I worked in the entertainment business here in Hollywood and got a lot of records for free. Sometimes duplicates. Record is in mint condition. Comes in a gatefold jacket in very good condition. Orangeish Dunhill sleeve inside is in mint condition. This comes with a foldout sheet the size of the sleeve with song lyrics. I'm including a picture of Buffett printed on an 8½"x11" sheet of paper. Combine auctions and save on shipping.

"Living & Dying in ¾ Time" was Buffett's fourth studio album. It was the second major label album in Buffett's Don Gant-produced "Key West phase". It was initially released in February 1974 as his second album for Dunhill Records. It contains the song "Come Monday", his first top-40 hit single. The song reached number 30 on the Hot 100 and number three Easy Listening and number 58 Country. In addition, "Pencil Thin Mustache" hit number 44 Easy Listening and "Saxophones" bubbled under the Hot 100 at number 105. The album contains two cover songs: "Ballad of Spider John" written and originally performed by Willis Alan Ramsey and "God's Own Drunk" by Lord Buckley. "Livingston's Gone to Texas" is a remake of Buffett's own song that was originally recorded for "High Cumberland Jubilee" (recorded 1971, released 1976). Singer/songwriter Jimmy Buffett has translated his easygoing Gulf Coast persona into more than just a successful recording career — he has expanded into clothing, nightclubs, and literature. But the basis of the business empire that keeps him on the Fortune magazine list of highest-earning entertainers is his music. Buffett died on September 1, 2023, at the age of 76 due to complications from Merkel-cell carcinoma, a rare and aggressive skin cancer.
