The best article I found on the career of Jimmy Rabbit (sometimes spelled "Rabbitt") is on the website of "Feenotes". His birth name was "Eddie Payne" and he moved from Washington DC to Tyler, Texas as a youngster. In the early 1960s, while still a teenager, he worked at radio stations in Tyler, Corpus Christie, and Port Arthur (in Louisiana). In 1964, he adopted the name "Jimmy Rabbitt" when he began working at KLIF-AM in Dallas. His show dominated the Dallas - Fort Worth market and he was named the "Number One Radio Personality" in Texas. It is said that he introduced the Beatles during their September 18, 1964 concert at the Dallas Memorial Auditorium. In 1968, he moved to California where he enjoyed great success at KCBQ-AM/FM in San Diego and later at KRLA-AM in Pasadena and at KABC-FM in Hollywood. In the 1980s, he would move to Colorado and then back to Texas. Concurrently with his career as a DJ, Rabbit had a signing career with various bands. It is said that the two songs on the record I am selling were used on the soundtrack of the 1965 film "High Yellow", and that Rabbit appeared in this film. (However, I don't see him credited on the IMDB website.)
