Finally, I'm back to listing more JAZZ Records! This week we have some of the great 10" records from the early to mid 1950s and -if I can get to it (hoping!) some very cool 7" EPs.
More to come!!

Joe Mooney Quartet

You Go To My Head

Decca Records DL5555 <> Mono <> Original 1955 U.S.A. Pressing <> 10" LP

VINYL: MINT Minus ~glossy vinyl plays very clean and clear. Bright, direct light reveals a total of 3 superficial hairlines. Silver on black Decca labels are very clean with no wear.

STRICT, CONSERVATIVE GOLDMINE Ratings!
(See PHOTOs)

Yeah baby! Eclectic mood jazz for the discriminating bachelor pad.

One part Esquivel, 2 parts Slim and Slam and one part Joe Friday! The crime: Joe on the "Mooneyvox" accordian. What? an accordian -in JAZZ? Sacrilege, you shriek? Well, Downbeat LOVED this stuff and helped get the (1949) sessions released. (I happen to think it's very cool myself!) Joe also sings (much like Cats and The Fiddle, Slim Gaillard, Scatman Cruthers or Charles Brown if those gentlemen were Italian) on a few of these tunes and plays the piano and Hammond organ as well. Smokey, neo-lounge lizard, 3am casino dialogue on Shakey Breaks The Ice by Professor Gaetan Frega. The quartet is filled out with clarinet, guitar and bass. No drums, Captain!

Part of a superbly cared for and deep jazz collection from a recently purchased estate out of Pebble Beach. I hope to list as many of these as I can through the coming weeks. I only have time for about 20 per week; trying to get up as many as I can.

This record is kept in a protective, clear poly outer-sleeve, as you shall receive it.
