Description
On the night of 15th November 2002, a piece of punk history was written. Joe Strummer and The Mescaleros were headlining a benefit concert in support of striking firefighters. Following a powerful set, the band took the stage to perform an encore.
A few minutes into their first number 'Bankrobber', the assembled crowd roared with delight as former Clash guitarist Mick Jones joined the band on stage with guitar in hand. This reunion was the first time Mick Jones and Joe Stummer had shared the same stage for nearly eighteen years! After performing an extended version of 'Bankrobber', the band roared through two of The Clash's finest early tunes 'White Riot' and 'London's Burning'. A staggered crowd stood staring in delight and disbelief.
This encore-to-end-all-encores was professionally recorded but only ever released on vinyl on the French 'Disques Montmartre' label in a tiny run of 1,000 copies.
Here is your chance to get not only a very rare copy of this record, but a unique three piece set. You are bidding on the following;
1. The Acton EP, in full colour sleeve, stamped 'Demo Copy 10 of 10'.
2. The Acton EP, white sleeve with red sticker, white label, rejected demo copy of the vinyl.
3. The Acton EP, white sleeve with green sticker, white label, approved demo copy of the vinyl.
These items will almost certainly not be available together anywhere else. I obtained these through an independent French radio station in Marseille. All items are in mint, unplayed condition. Due to their rarity, the postage price you will pay includes insurance and delivery must be signed for.
Please note this seller's 100% feedback and bid with total confidence.
