Description
I believe this is an early second mono pressing of A Love Supreme according to Jazzcollector.com, whose commentariat weighed in about it the last time I put it up for sale (didn't sell).
The very, very first pressing had A-77 on the label about side 1 and side 2. This has A-77-A and A-77-B, which appears to indicate this came right after that one. Looking at discogs, I thought maybe it was the "Keel pressing," but the edges of the record aren't serrated. This is from within the first 2 years of issue though, since it predates the 1967 reissue, which had some differences in the label.
It's not perfectly silent, it has a little surface noise here and there in lighter areas. There are scattered pops. But, at least for me, this doesn't impinge on the experience; which, honestly, is compelling. The music comes through strongly. I'm calling it VG+, with the caveat that I'm not an expert. I do know that if I received this, I'd very happy.
Does not include the original dust sleeve.
The sleeve, as noted, has some issues. Fortunately, they're all on the back of the record, not the front. The delamination is annoying. I don't know if there's a way to stabilize it.
If you feel unsatisfied, I'm happy to accept returns.
