ARTIST: John Coltrane
LABEL: Impulse! ?– AS-95 (1972)
TITLE: Ascension
CONDITION:
SLEEVE: The front cover has bright clean lamination. Has 5 3/4" and 3" upraised lines on the left side of the front cover where the lamination was not pressed down flatly. Interestingly it seems to have caused the color in the word Ascension to have kind of a 3-D effect on the lettering. There is also a tiny indent dot in the middle of the cover. The back cover is almost NM w/ just a whisper of lamination wear. The seams are sharp & intact w/ very tiny spots of corner wear.
RECORD: Looks & plays NM except for a tiny pressing divot at the very beginning of Side A that cause a couple of very light background thumps. By the spindle hole it looks like this LP may have never been played / VPI cleaned
COMMENTS: This is a 1972 black w/ red ring label gatefold copy of this classic. Edition 2 version w/ great sound from Rudy Van Gelder
