Description
JOHN COLTRANE - ASCENSION, Impulse A-95, laminated gatefold jacket, mono, Edition II, Van Gelder in dead wax.
On this 1965 recording, the musicians are Freddie Hubbard, Dewey Johnson (trumpet), Marion Brown, John Tchicai (alto sax), John Coltrane, Archie Shepp, Pharoah Sanders (tenor sax), McCoy Tyner (piano), Jimmy Garrison, Art Davis (bass), Elvin Jones (drums).
The tunes are Ascension, Part 1 & 2. This Edition II was issued a year after the original release at the request of John Coltrane, who considered this take to be superior to the take originally chosen for release.
Condition of record is E, no scuffs, no scratches, no spindle marks. Jacket shows slight overall wear, no seam splits. The number 18 is written inside jacket.

G = Good. Not really all that good. Records in this category have more significant damage or wear.
F = More severe damage, distracting surface noise. Only used in incidence of extreme rarity.
P = Poor condition, proves existence of record only.
