UP FOR BID HERE IS A RARE, MONO ORIGINAL FIRST-PRESSING OF THE ALL-TIME CLASSIC LP FROM 1960, GIANT STEPS, BY JOHN COLTRANE. THE THICK VINYL FROM THIS FIRST PRESSING SOUNDS FAR BETTER THAN LATER REPRESSINGS IN MY COLLECTION. RARE PURPLE, RED, BLACK AND WHITE LABEL. COVER LOOKS GREAT AND THE RECORD SOUNDS PHENOMENAL!

COVER: VG to VG+ (The cover is intact and looks great. Has some moderate wear on the front and a 1-inch seem split on the bottom, but other than that the seems and spine are intact. Some moderate corner wear, but nothing too major. The back has some light to moderate wear and the label on the a-side of the record has a small discoloration from an old price sticker. Overall, the cover and labels look really good, especially given that this is an original pressing from 1960. See photos!)
VINYL: STRONG VG+ to VG++ (The vinyl is shiny and mostly pristine, with just a few light, surface-level scuffs that can’t be felt, and do not affect play. There is a small blemish underneath the vinyl towards the beginning of the b-side, but it only produced a light tick for a few seconds. I HAVE PLAY GRADED THIS ENTIRE RECORD AND IT PLAYS WITH NO SURFACE NOISE AT ALL EXCEPT FOR THE PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED BLEMISH. Overall, the record looks and sounds great, and the dynamic spectrum of the high-quality original pressing is far superior to the subsequent represses! Great copy of a very rare record!!!
NOTE: I have carefully visually graded each record under a bright light using conservative standards. In this case, I play graded the entire record.
