John Fahey Death Chants LP Takoma Private Folk Blues

Up for auction I have the 1963 John Fahey “Death Chants Break Downs & Military Waltzes” LP on Takoma Records out of Berkeley Calif. with a handmade cover. Takoma C 1003. Cover is VG+ and vinyl is VG++.

Cover is handmade. Has a white wrapper that covers the front and some of the back with a strong black sleeve underneath. Front is strong but has a persons address on one corner. Two places show a little bit of crayon or marker with yellow and orange pen. Shows wear and some blemishes. Spine is tight. The bottom and top of spine show rubs from shelf wear. All corners are slightly worn. Top and bottom seams both have very large splits down them. They don’t go all the way down. back has two names in pen in one corner and the same types of age and shelf wear that the front has. Grades VG to VG+.

Vinyl plays loud, clear and almost perfectly clean. Really bright and wonderful playback with the slightest bits of surface noise that do not effect overall listening experience at all. Such a wonderful folk album. Vinyl has decent shine. Some light scuffs and scratches can be seen in the light. Nice black and silver center labels. They are pretty darn clean. Maybe have some light scuffs, rubs and scratches in the light. Nice strong center hole with some very light wear. Wonderful VG++ copy.
