John Fahey (February 28, 1939 – February 22, 2001) was an American fingerstyle guitarist and composer who pioneered the steel-string acoustic guitar as a solo instrument. His style has been greatly influential and has been described as the foundation of American Primitivism, a term borrowed from painting and referring mainly to the self-taught nature of the music and its minimalist style. Fahey borrowed from the folk and blues traditions in American roots music, having compiled many forgotten early recordings in these genres. He would later incorporate classical, Portuguese, Brazilian, and Indian music into his œuvre.[1] Fahey wrote a largely apocryphal autobiography and was known for his coarseness, aloof demeanor, and dry humour. He spent many of his latter years in poverty and poor health, but also enjoyed a minor career resurgence with a turn towards the more explicitly avant-garde. He died in 2001 due to complications from heart surgery. In 2003, he was ranked 35th in the Rolling Stone "The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" list.

Sensational sound quality, I have played this through in its entirety and it was a great joy!!! NO skips , jumps or sticks. NO clicks or crackle, this is really a stunning heavy glossy jet black vinyl .  Inspected under an intense lightsource and angled.

Vinyl: EX+!! A sensational find!!! I have played this in FULL twice over> The replay is ASTOUNDING!!! I first played for a general listen and a second time for a more exacting one. The vinyl has a beautiful deep gloss rarely found on a record of this age. I am very glad to be able to report that this is a fine slab of vinyl without any problems at all and as such worthy of inclusion of any great 60's and 70's collection. Stunning audio as would be expected of the quality Track vinyl.

Sleeve: EX+. Fully laminated and close to NM really.. The spine is 100%. The edges are deadstraight. NO seam splits, NO writing or doodling. The distinctive cover of The Transfiguration of Blind Joe Death is briefly focused on in a shot of a record store in Stanley Kubrick's film A Clockwork Orange. The jacket design and drawing are by David Omar White.

This is now very rare and a unique investment opportunity!!! Finding this album in any condition at all is nearly impossible!!! This is  a great and seriously collectable super album!!  You will buy into a piece of folk/psych/blues  history.
