Description
Mega rare John Lee Hooker Lp. All the lps I've seen for sale had a black cover, this is the original blue cover.
John Lee Hooker And His Guitar (15 Tracks - Recorded 1949 - 1951) was released by Advent Records in the UK, Advent was a micro label that specialised in post war Blues recordings.
This was a limited edition, issued in the mid-sixties of Hooker’s work between 1949 and 1951 and much prized by collectors in those early years of blues appreciation.
Also included with the Lp are 2 inserts, one that came with the Lp explaining the recording of this lp and advertising the next Lp in the Advent Records series. The second insert is written by hand and lists the original recordings this Lp used.
Record looks very clean and plays without any problem just a little background noise which I assume is due to the 78s recording they used for this compilation (in the insert they mention this fact), I was tempted to grade it as NM- but opted for EX- to be on the safe side. There is no marks or scratches on the surface, it really looks like it hasn't had many plays at all
Cover has some age related stains and bit of rubbing where the front cover has been glued to the sleeve. It's slighly unglued on the bottom right corner. Please, study the pictures.
