JOHN LEE HOOKER PLAYS & SINGS THE BLUES, Chess LP-1454, white label review copy.
Record looks VG+, no scuffs, scratches, spindle marks. Plays with very slight occasional surface noise that we suspect may be inherent in the pressing and not from wear. Jacket has some minor brown staining on back, front looks shiny & clean. No seam splits. Previous owner has written "needle sticks" next to one track. We have played the track and there is no such problem. Another comment on back has been whited out. Overall this is a very nice copy of a blues classic.
These sides were recorded in 1951 & 1959 and most of them were first released on this 1961 LP.
